- DOWTHERM 4000 heat transfer fluid features the highest maximum use temperature of
any glycol. This fluid is specially formulated with inhibitors to offer greater thermal stability
and corrosion protection. The fluid is dyed fluorescent orange to aid in leak detection.
Solutions in water provide freeze protection to below -50°C (-60°F) and burst protection to
below -73°C (-100°F).

- DOWTHERM SR-1 Concentrate in pails is an ethylene glycol-based heat transfer fluid that is widely used for secondary cooling and heating applications, for freeze and burst protection of pipes, and for various deicing, defrosting, and dehumidifying applications. DOWTHERM SR-1 Concentrate in pails contains specially formulated packages of industrial inhibitors that help prevent corrosion. Due to ethylene glycol’s less viscous properties compared to propylene glycol, they generally provide superior heat transfer efficiency and better low temperature performance and are preferred for most heat transfer applications. In applications where toxicity is a concern, propylene glycol fluids are used because of their low acute oral toxicity vs. the moderate toxicity of ethylene glycols.
